Here’s a brief overview of site 440 on Vixen Lake in the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park. We spent one night on this island site last weekend and had an overall good experience.
A few trees offered some protection from the winds which were coming in from the NW at approx 20 km/hr. The site featured a small sandy area – which would be great for swimming – as well as enough tent pads to fit 2-3 small or medium sized tents.
One downfall to the site may be its close proximity to the neighboring island which is no more than 100m away…. so if your neighbors get rowdy, you’ll be sure to hear it!
Great site overall – I’ll definitely plan a return visit.
